Louisville's Kevin Ware returns to action, gets standing ovation and scores

Ware returns 222 days after horrific leg injury.

Kevin Ware's gruesome leg injury that led to Louisville rallying together through adversity en route to a national championship left the national audience wondering if the Cardinals guard would ever return to the hardwood.

On Wednesday night, in an exhibition game against Pikeville, Ware played in his first hoops game since the horrific injury in last season's Elite Eight. His unexpected return came with much applause, as he received multiple standing ovations before and after checking in with 13:49 left in the game.

Ware, who's been dunking since September, made the most of his return, cashing in a three-pointer moments after entering the game. On the night, he finished with six points, four rebounds and three standing ovations.
